Sonido® TRADEMARK USAGE POLICY

(effective Apr. 16, 2019. March 2, 2020)

This Trademark Usage Policy will show you the proper use of Sonido® trademarks and logos. Sonido, LLC. does require that you use our trademarks and registered trademarks correctly and refer to them properly. The terms of this section apply to the entire Corporate Identity Guide of Sonido, LLC. located here: https://www.sonido.fm/trademark.

Use of the trademark(s) by distributors and retailers with whom Sonido has an ongoing commercial relationship requires prior consent and a formal license registrar agreement.

USE THE CORRECT SYMBOL
When using a Sonido® trademark in text form (“Sonido® Mark”) use the correct ® or ™ symbol, as indicated on the trademark chart below (The “Sonido® Mark Chart”), on the most prominent (or if none is prominent, the first) appearance of a Sonido® Mark.

The basic rule is if you are using a Sonido® Mark that is registered with the U.S. Patent & Trademark office the ® symbol should be displayed, and if the Sonido® Mark is not yet registered, the ™ symbol should be displayed. Once a Sonido® Mark is correctly attributed on a document or web page, it is not ordinarily necessary to mark subsequent appearances of the trademark in the piece. Every appearance of a Sonido® Mark in stylized form or design (“Sonido® Logo”) should also appear with the appropriate ® or ™ symbol, and may be used only under license from Sonido, LLC.

Generally, the trademarks of Sonido, LLC., or its subsidiaries may not be used without the express written permission of Sonido, LLC. However, limited fair use of these trademarks (not including logos) is acceptable provided that the marks are used for the purpose of identifying or describing the company’s products and comply with the following trademark usage practice: When using the word marks to talk about Sonido, LLC products, include: (i) the appropriate marking symbol (e.g. ™ or ®), and (ii) the appropriate generic descriptor the first time it appears (e.g., service, website, blog).

ALWAYS USE Sonido MARKS AS PROPER ADJECTIVES
A trademark is an adjective and should not be used as a verb or noun or in the possessive or plural forms. Every Sonido® Mark has a “product descriptor” (i.e. a noun) that follows the trademark.

Examples:
Sonido® radio
Sonido® online station
Listen to Sonido® radio

DO NOT ALTER Sonido® LOGOS
When using a Sonido® Mark, never vary the spelling, add or delete hyphens, make one word two, or use a possessive or plural form of the Sonido® Mark. When using a Sonido® logo, never modify the design, add or delete any words, change any colors or proportions.

DO NOT ABBREVIATE A Sonido® MARK TO CREATE AN ACRONYM
Examples of incorrect use:
snd instead of Sonido®

THE Sonido® LOGO
The Sonido® logo must be used as a stand-alone icon to connote origination of Sonido®, without other logos and trademarks associated with it.

Only Sonido® products and services may be used in conjunction with the Sonido® logo.

Sonido® PRODUCT NAMES
No third party logo or mark can be used in conjunction with the Sonido® Marks for Sonido® product names except to connote that Sonido® technology is included with another product or mark. In other words, do not combine the Sonido® Marks with third party trademarks.

The Sonido® Marks and Sonido® logos may not be used as part of the product name for any third party product.

Wherever a Sonido® Mark or Sonido® logo appears with another company trademark or logo, the Sonido® Mark or Sonido® logo must be at least as large as the trademark or logo of the other company.

USING FOOTNOTES FOR CORRECT ATTRIBUTION
It is Sonido, LLC.’s policy to attribute Sonido® logo use by placing the information in a footnote as follows.

Example:
“_____ are either registered trademarks or trademarks of Sonido, LLC.”

There is no “boilerplate” footnote. The blank space should be a list of all Sonido® Marks and Sonido® logos that appear in that particular piece. If all Sonido® Marks and Sonido® logos are registered trademarks, then the footnote should indicate as such. Footnotes should always be complete sentences, and ordinarily appear on the copyright page, on the last page of the material.

Example:
Sonido is a registered trademark of Sonido, LLC.

POWER POINT AND OTHER PRESENTATIONS
Sonido® Marks and Sonido® logos, should always be attributed with the proper symbol and footnoted on all presentations that are displayed to the public (sales, trade shows etc). If a presentation is used internally, the Sonido® Marks and Sonido® logos should be attributed but need not be footnoted.

THIRD PARTY LICENSORS
Some Sonido® products include technology used under license from third party licensors. You may not use any such third party trademark without express permission from the owner.

RESERVATION OF RIGHTS
Sonido, LLC. is the owner of all right, title, and interest in the Sonido® Marks and Sonido® logos.
